Our Classes

Modern Ballet Dancers

Pre-Professional

Our Pre-Professional classes focus on refining advanced technique and building artistic expression. Dancers will train in multiple styles, pointe, variations, choreography, and conditioning. The program also includes valuable lessons in audition prep, nutrition, injury prevention, resume writing, and guidance for pursuing professional dance opportunities.

Acro

This non-performing class builds strength, flexibility, balance, and control through fundamental acrobatic skills like rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and backbends, progressing to walkovers and aerials. Perfect for students looking to boost agility and overall body conditioning.

Ballet

Students will learn ballet terminology, technique, and execution of classical ballet while learning proper body alignment, movement quality, and carriage of the upper body. Strength, flexibility, stamina, poise, and presence will be taught and developed. Ballet is the foundation for most forms of dance. The elements learned in Ballet are essential for Jazz, Tap, Lyrical/Contemporary and Acro.

Hip Hop

This is a high energy class where our instructors teach cutting edge dance moves while developing rhythm, coordination and musicality. Choreography, without suggestive music or movements, is learned and all students are encouraged to bring their own style and personality to the movements.

Jazz

Students are taught Jazz steps, isolations, turns, leaps, and combinations with an emphasis on proper technique. Students will work on performance quality and execution of combinations and routines. Difficulty of steps and elements increase greatly as dancers move to higher levels. Ballet and Acro will greatly enhance a dancer’s ability to improve technique and perform athletic moves (tricks) that are required for upper level jazz dancers.

Ballet & Tap( 3-5 Ages )

During the ballet portion of this combo class, children learn basic ballet terminology, positions, movements and coordination. These elements are taught and practiced through creative movement in a fun, nurturing environment. The tap portion emphasizes teaching basic motor skills, rhythm and coordination while learning basic tap steps. Students also learn important social skills (sharing, taking turns etc.) which can make a significant impact on learning and maturing. Students in this class can also benefit greatly from our “Tumble Tots” class.

Dancing in Water

Lyrical Contemporary

These interpretive styles embody various aspects of ballet, jazz, and acro. Dancers are taught technical aspects of these forms lyrical and contemporary while learning to emotionally interpret music and lyrics with movement. Ballet and acro will greatly enhance a dancer’s ability to improve technique and perform athletic moves (tricks) that are required for upper level lyrical/contemporary dancers.

Tap

Fun and fast paced! Knee, ankle and foot articulation, coordination and speed of movement are developed and refined as dancers progress through our Tap levels. Instructors will place an emphasis on proper technique, rhythm, coordination, and musicality.

Ballet Dancer

Musical Theatre

Musical Theater is a form of dance which combines elements of several dance styles to create a performance that is both artistic and entertaining. Our musical theater dance class focuses on developing an understanding of the various styles of movement and techniques used in the theater. Dancers learn how to interpret music, tell a story through dance, and hone their technical skills through characterization, choreography, and improvisation exercises.
